How many teammates in one game?Gameplay
The goal of the game is to guess a numerical code that will free the missing Marleen. Set in Cologne in the 1950s and 1960s, a time when only analog cameras and film reels existed. Telephones were still connected to the wall with cables, and obtaining a tape recording was somewhat more complicated.
It was also a time of reawakening for the city. Cologne itself was on the move, though still under construction in many places. The Federal Garden Show, the new airport, new museums, new trams, the new opera house, and Sunday afternoon dances.
This game begins in 1957. It contains pictures from 1953-1957.
Marleen and her friends were right in the middle of this exciting time. They enjoyed living in the city, and they lived it.

Marleen
Marleen is a young woman. She went eight years to elementary school. After she finished school she made a vocational training at her parents bakery. She works there, mainly she delivers the fresh backed bread on her bicyle to the clients, which are companies and privat people. She likes her job. It is simply not her dream job. She really likes to work as a photographer, which her parents do not really supports. Her brother Felix wants her to reach her goal. Marleen is very happy that she had met Karl-Heinz and with her brand new camera she is often used by Karl-Heinz to make fotos for him at his work. Whether curiosity in it is only a youthful behavior, or whether it will always be so is not clear yet. Nor does she seem to be afraid of anything. She meets a lot of her friends in the city and they have a lot of fun together.
Karl-Heinz
This is a decent dressed man with perfect manners. So nice that he did not bring it over his heart to reject Marleen, after she kept following him. In the beginning, this was clearly needed very much getting used to. Marleen repeatedly appeared in his work and interfered in everything. In the meantime, she is good friends with his girlfriend, who knows that she motivates him with her curiosity and her urge to commit. Karl-Heinz was able to write very well at school and found his dream job as a reporter. He writes for a daily newspaper in Cologne. He is a sensationalist. In private, he collects first day letters and postcards and is to be inspired for any joint venture with his friends.
Erika
Erika is stewardess and the fiancée of Karl-Heinz. She comes around a lot, sees the world and does not know when it is time to get married and have children. Certainly she wants to marry Karl-Heinz and also found a family with him. She always liked children. But the work above the clouds she loves too much. She is actually from the north of the Republic. That's why "Kölsch", the Cologne langusge, is not her mother tongue and she sometimes has to ask for the meaning of words. The city she has taken it to her heart. Although she was quite sceptical at the beginning when Marleen repeatedly appeared with her boyfriend, she closed Marleen to her heart as a good friend.
Rudi
The Köbes, a so named waiter in Cologne, from the Old Town. A Köbes knows many people and also all the rumours that circulate in Cologne. He likes Marleen, whom he met by surpise. He likes her slightly naive, youthful nature and tries to protect her above all. With Karl-Heinz he has developed a deep friendship.
Lydie
Lydie is French. With her friendly nature, she is very popular with the bachelors. Maybe that is also just her beautiful look with the sweet-sounding French accent. Lydie is a few years older than Marleen, loves dancing and good food. During the day, she works as a secretary at the police headquarters at the Waidmarkt and can also write a typewriter very quickly with her always maintained, longer fingernails. Stenography is of course also mastered. Lydie and Marleen complement each other very well. Lydie is already so firm in life, with Marleen being about to make her dreams come true.
Felix
Felix is the twin brother of Marleen. Not as curious as his sister, but always on the spot when she gets in touch. He also trained in his parents' business as a baker and has followed in his father's footsteps, as the family wished. He is happy with it. He is looking for a nice girl. He has learned to play the harmonica and now likes to sit on the banks of the Rhine and play in his spare time. There is a telephone in the shop and therefore it is almost always available. Otherwise Marleen goes to meet him down to the Rhine. Felix is often dreamy as well as sometimes tortical. When dancing, however, he covered the blues and rock 'n' roll for himself. He is really good at it and the dance partners are queuing up at the Sunday dance in the Flora.

Each team needs a ticket. After activation, the game is played based on time. The team that guesses the correct code the fastest wins. You can view your time after the game ends. Like a city rally.
This isn't a city tour as you're used to. There's no guidebook – you're supposed to guide yourself using a 1950s city map. The theme is "The City in the 1950s & 1960s." You'll pass the most famous sights, such as Cologne Cathedral, and you can also visit it during the game. You'll be guided to other sights in Cologne's Old Town during the game, where you'll have to solve puzzles.
Yes. A scavenger hunt with a cell phone, without paper or pen.
Yes. You're solving the puzzle so Marleen can get the correct code to free herself. You also have to pick up the foreign coins along the way so Marleen knows how to get home. Marleen uses pennies and Deutsche Marks as a guide. However, there are also francs or guilders occasionally. An Escape Game where you aren't free yourself. Instead Marleen.
It takes you to Cologne's old town with its cobblestones, which are not easy to navigate with walkers or wheelchairs.
